Hi, I'm Chelsea.  I'm a wife, mother and former Family and Consumer Science Teacher (aka Home Economics).  I started this blog in 2010 as a way to help me “Get My Crap Together”.  I often found that the skills I taught my high school students everyday didn’t translate back into my own home.  You know like cooking, sewing, crafting, cleaning, folding laundry (eck…I hate this one) and organizing. I started GYCT in hopes I could get a little better handle on life.

Over the year, GYCT has turned into more of a creative outlet for me to showcase my crafting and sewing projects.  I also branched out and began sharing my love of teaching through sewing tutorials.  In 2014, I launched my first PDF pattern and opened the GYCT Designs Pattern Shop.

My husband and children are my main motivation.  When I design a new pattern or create a new blog post, it is always inspired by a need in my own home or family.
